Preparing for IBM Domino server installation

Various items to address in preparation:

IBM Notes
-Completed the upgrade to Microsoft Windows 10-Pro
-Downloaded, from IBM Passport Advantage, Part Number CNXL1EN, which is the IBM Notes-Administrator-Designer client 10.0.1. for Windows
-Copied my user.id file over, because I had removed this from my Person Document in NAB
-Ran the installer (chose Notes, Administrator, Designer)
-Pointed to the user.id file and said OK to allow it copy into the data folder
-Ran Administrator — found roaming files; all OK

IBM Domino Server
-Copied over the CERT.ID file to the Microsoft Windows 10-Pro Installers directory, because I’ll need that for creating a new server.id file for the temporary server
-Downloaded, from IBM Passport Advantage, Part Number CNXL7EN, which is the IBM Domino Server 10.0.1 64-bit Windows English. Note: Was a bit weird, because it says the OS is for Windows 10 – maybe it was picking up that I had logged in from a Windows-10 machine

VMWare Snapshot
Done – make a snapshot before running the setup for Domino (and after doing Win Updates)

Registered a new Domino Server
Done – Simple to do. Followed these instructions. Now I have a new server.id file to reference when running the domino installation

When you register a server, Domino does the following:

-Creates a server ID for the new server and certifies it with the certifier ID
-Creates a Server document for the new server in the Domino Directory
-Encrypts and attaches the server ID to the Server document and saves the ID on a disk or in a file on the server
-Adds the server name to the LocalDomainServers group in the Domino Directory
-Creates an entry for the new server in the Certification Log (certlog.nsf)

Pending – FQDN setup for the IP Addresses re: DNS addresses

Administration Server – Things to keep in mind
-This document gives some advice about changing names fields in various locations.

-You can configure which database is linked to which administration server. I remember a while back changing the administration server from one server to another. What actually occurred was that the NAB (names and address book) was changed. I confirmed this by going into the ACL and clicked on Advanced. That says which server is the administration server.
Note: This is good because the administration server (linked to NAB) is technically the first server to be upgraded to Domino 10.0.1., because that’s the first server I’m going to be replicating. Within the ACL it also says under action – “Do not modify names fields”.
Note: As a cross-check, I looked at the ACL for my mail database, and the administration server is the other server. I’m now confirmed on which server is the administration server for the Domain’s Name and Address Book (NAB) database.

Note: This is for preparing the new DA-OJAI-VM Domino Server (inherit identities)

Action Support
-The serial number for the software is: CNXL1EN
-Logged into IBM Passport Advantage to find the software
-Had to copy over my user.id file so I could authenticate during first startup

Quicken 2017 Home & Business – account reconciling issues (Resolved)

Desired Outcome:
Resolve why every so often my Quicken Accounts become disconnected from my bank.

20190607 Update: After upgrading from Windows 10-Home to 10-Pro, I had to over-install Quicken for Windows. The data was picked up OK.

Troubleshooting:
-Within checking account, I noticed that the name in the bank account is all caps, so changed that in Quicken; No difference. Somehow the bank is not recognizing the Quicken account.
-Tried resetting the accounts first, but none of the accounts where seen – something about either the account closed (not true) or the nickname not consistent (possible, but I thought i had addressed that a while back).
-Deactivated the Checking Account; Did the 1-step command; entered the bank username and password
-Quicken then contacts the bank and acknowledges that there are two accounts (Checking and Visa) — the others (Savings, two business accounts) are still disconnected somehow
-Quicken asks if the Checking and Visa accounts should be added or linked. This is the key — I was able to navigate to two existing accounts in Quicken and linked them.
-Quicken then did it’s thing and came back with a reconciliation of Visa and Checking and had downloaded for 527 days and 516 days respectively
-Maybe I’m on to a solution now and just need to repeat for the other accounts
-Checked the account listing and looks good for Checking and Visa
-Working on resolving Savings, two Business Accounts by deactivating and then manually activating again and entering the bank username and password. This is a pain, but I suppose it’s required.

NOTE:

In doing this a couple times now, I’m figuring that the key is to deactivate EVERY account and then add them all back in again. I’ve seen that if you do it one at a time, it some forget about other accounts.

This is a Troubleshooting from Quicken from Quicken that may give more info

Summary:

I think I’m good now. The final account wanted to reset and it actually found the account to link to automatically. We’ll see how long this holds, because I’ve noticed it happening every so often. I also need to use the app more consistently (during Weekly Reviews). There is a good chance that things fell out because I had just done a Windows upgrade from 8.1 to 10 last night.
