Upgrading WordPress from 2.8.4 to 2.8.6

It hasn’t been long since I initially installed WordPress 2.8.4 and now it’s up to 2.8.6.

I was slightly underwhelmed by the installation documentation.

Tried to do the automatic installation, so that sent me down the road of manually updating.

Was able to follow the PHPAdmin instructions for backing up the database.

Used FileZilla to copy the other files down from the Server to my hard-drive.

The underwhelm part was when I reviewing the Easy Install vs. Extended install.  It appeared that I need to read both installation instructions because each was relatively missing something, but both needed to be followed in total.

Anyway…  after manually copying various files over, I was able to get up and running again and away I go!!!

Overall, I’m really impressed with WordPress and am looking forward to getting my site looking like www.cnn.com or www.reuters.com.
